If the Beatles Were Christian
68
Introduction
Millions love the music of the Beatles. What if they were people who loved Jesus Christ? What if all their songs focused on Him? Imagine.
The Fool on the Hill
Day after day, alone on a hill
The man with the empty life still says that God is not real
The universe can’t convince him,
Though it speaks abundantly
The sky pours forth its wisdom….
But the fool on the hill says
the world made itself
And the men on this clod just
evolved randomly.
He goes on his way, with a heart that can’t hear
The Man of a thousand voices who is perfectly clear
But he doesn’t want to hear Him
Or the sound He daily makes
And he never seems to notice….
But the fool on the hill sees
the sun going down
And the thought in his head is
still “God can’t be found”.
Yet Jesus just wants to touch him,
And fill his emptiness within
But he never shows his feelings….
For the fool on the hill only
trusts what he sees
And to him Jesus Christ, just
can’t be… just can’t be…
He never listens to them,
For he knows Christians are “fools”
But deep within he’s yearning….
For the fool on the hill knows he’s empty within
A Christ-shaped vacuum—that is meant just for Him.
Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
It was long ago and far away
Jesus lived and died and rose again
Though our songs go in and out of style
Only Jesus really makes us smile.
So may I introduce to you
The One you’ve heard for all these years,
Jesus Christ the Lord of all the Land!
(chorus)
He’s Jesus Christ the Lord of all the land,
We hope you will receive Him too!
He’s Jesus Christ the Lord of all the land
We love Him and you’ll love Him too!
Jesus Christ the Lord of…, Jesus Christ the Lord of..,
Jesus Christ the Lord of all the land.
It’s wonderful to know Him,
It’s certainly a thrill.
He’s such a lovely dwelling place
He’d love to make His home in you
He’d love to make His home.
I don’t really want to stop this song,
But I thought you’d want to sing along
But to sing you need Christ in you
So this is what you need to do
Believe in Him and call out loud--
(Be sure to do it loud and strong!)
“Jesus Christ is Lord of all my heart!”
Eleanor Rigby
Ah, get into the heart of Jesus!
Ah, get into the love of Jesus!
His human living: emptied and humbled , He lived out the life of a slave
Yet He was God
Cares for the people:teaching and healing and freeing from all of their sin
Our Jubilee
In the heart of Jesus
God’s fullness can be found
In the love of Jesus
Is where we all belong
His crucifixion—bearing the sins of the people though He never sinned
The Lamb of God.
Look at Him standing. Judged by Sanhedrin and Pilate’s own unrighteous court
A Crown of Thorns
In the heart of Jesus
God’s mercy can be found
In the love of Jesus
Is where we all belong
Ah, get into the heart of Jesus!
Ah, get into the love of Jesus!
The God-man Jesus, died on the cross and was buried in a stranger’s tomb
He died for you
Where were His dear friends? Though they spent three years with Him they all ran from the scene
Where would you be?
In the heart of Jesus
Salvation can be found
In the love of Jesus
Is where we can be strong
Then dawns the morning--Death’s fatal sting is defeated by His life divine.
He is alive!
A place is prepared-- “I in the Father and You in Me and I in You”
Mingling divine
In the heart of Jesus
God’s purpose can be found
In the love of Jesus
One with the Triune God
The Long and Winding Road
The long and winding road
that leads to God,
My idols disappear
I’ve seen the God of glory
He always leads me there
into promised land.
The doubt and fear filled night
that His word washed away,
Has left a heart of faith
trusting in my God.
He is my great reward
my shield for the way.
Many times I took my way
and many times I’ve failed
Ishmael you’ll never have
but Isaac will prevail, and
Still He speaks to me
And fills me with glory
I built an altar here
A long long time ago
I’ll always live to You
Lead me to glory
God of glory shine
Though I fail, your will prevails
The God of glory’s here
Where He leads, I don’t know
Don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to Yourself
Got to Get You Into My Life
I was alone,
I read the Word, I didn't know what I would find there
I need Your life, I need Your will, I need to find the mind of Christ there
Ooh, then I suddenly see You,
Ooh, did I tell You I need You
Every single day of my life
You’re in the Word, You’re with the church, You knew I needed just to find You
And had I left You long enough we'd meet
again for I adore You
Ooh, You were meant to be in me
Ooh, and I want You to fill me
With your living Word every day
Got to get Christ into my life!
What can I do, what can I be, When in
spirit I wanna stay there
If I'm true I'll never leave And if I do I know the way there
Ooh, then suddenly I see You,
Ooh, did I tell you I need You
Every single day of my life
Got to get Christ into my life
Got to get Christ into my life
We turned our heart, we sang a song, we all knew how to find our Christ there
The narrow road where maybe we could finally live the life of Christ there
Then suddenly I see You,
Did I tell you I need You
Every single day of my life
Got to get
Christ into my life
Got to get Christ into my life
Something
Something in the way He speaks
Attracts me like no other person
Something in the way He draws me
I don't want to leave Him now
You know I believe Him now
Since now His glory I know
I live to Him and not another
His eternal love compels me
Singing’s no more my life
He’s the way, the truth and life
He’s asking me if I love Him
I love You! Lord, You know!
Lord, You know I failed before
Oh Lord grow! In me grow!
Something in the way He knows
And all I have to do is look at Him
Something in His eyes shines through me
Don't want to leave Him now
You know I believe Him now
Let it Be
When I find myself in times of trouble
The Lord Jesus comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom – “TURN TO ME…”
And in my hour of darkness
He is living right inside of me
Speaking words of wisdom – “TURN TO ME…”
“Turn to Me, Turn to Me
Turn to Me, Turn to Me
I will be your answer
Turn to Me.”
And when the broken hearted people
Turn to Christ, then they will see
He will be their answer– TASTE AND SEE.
For though they may be hardened,
There is still a chance that they will see
That He is the answer—TASTE AND SEE.
Taste and see. Taste and see.
Taste and see. Taste and see.
Christ is our one Answer
Taste and see.
And when the night is cloudy,
He is the light that shines in me,
Shine until tomorrow--SHINE IN ME.
I wake up to the sound of music,
The Lord Jesus sings in me,
Singing words of wisdom—SHINE IN ME.
Shine in me. Shine in me
Shine in me. Shine in me
Your light is the answer
Shine in me
Imagine
Imagine Christ from heaven
Living inside man
No sin is reigning
We’re just filled with Him
Imagine all the people
Living Christ today...
Imagine no divisions
It isn’t hard to do
No barriers between us
Just Christ in me and you
Imagine all the people
Joined in Christ today...
You
may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope today you'll receive Him
And the world can live as one
Imagine no possessions
Only Christ we have
No need for greed or hunger
A world of God-men
Imagine all the people
Sharing Christ today
You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope today you'll live Him
And the church will be as one.

Ha! That's so hilarious! I'm Christian myself. I especially liked the "Let it Be"...ahem! "Turn to Me". Fab.
They were not Christians who were sidetracked...They were friends and heavely influenced by Satanist Alester Crowley. This is a great post and yes I wish the beatles were Christians because it would have probably set a whole generation free instead of enslaved them to their selfish desires.
What a great thought and a good post. It would have been amazing should they have been Christian!
